What is the difference between plating and vermeil?
Standard plating can be applied over any base metal, often brass or copper. At Love Story, we use Surgical steel as the base. Vermeil has a strict standard: it must have a sterling silver base and a thick layer of gold plating (at least 2.5 microns). Our vermeil is triple-plated for even greater durability and a more luxurious finish.
Will the rose gold colour wear off?
Any plated jewellery requires care to maintain its finish. Solid 9ct rose gold will never fade. For our vermeil and plated charms, the colour is durable for everyday wear, but we recommend removing them before showering, swimming, or applying lotions to prolong their beautiful finish. Can I add these charms to a bracelet I already own?
Yes. Our charms are designed with a versatile loop (bail) or jump ring that is sized to fit most standard Necklace chains and link charm bracelets, allowing you to add to your existing collection easily. For bracelets, please check the sizing requirements in the description of the selected charm.
