Creating Confidence

Why We Offer Artwork Proofs

Creating the perfect personalised jewellery gift involves careful consideration of every detail. While most of our pieces can be accurately previewed using our online tools, we understand some customers desire an extra layer of certainty before their special jewellery goes into production.

Fair Pricing

Customers who don’t need proofs aren’t subsidising those who do. This keeps base prices low for everyone while offering specialised service when required.

Dedicated Time

Creating detailed mock-ups and managing revisions requires focused designer time. The proof fee covers this personalised attention to your project.

Targeted Need

Simple personalisations (like a single letter) don’t need proofs. We offer this service for complex designs with multiple variables, ensuring value where it matters.

Understanding the Service

What Your Artwork Proof Includes

An Artwork Proof is a digital mock-up (PDF) showing exactly how your personalisation will appear on your chosen jewellery piece.

What You Receive
  • PDF document delivered via email within 2 business days
  • Visual mock-up of your specific jewellery piece
  • Clear representation of text, fonts, and graphics positioned on the item
  • Up to 3 rounds of revisions to perfect your design
  • Professional designer attention to layout and aesthetics
Service Limitations

To maintain clarity, the standard Artwork Proof service does not include:

  • Photo recreation or vectorisation – We require usable, high-resolution files
  • Drawing new characters or symbols – Custom illustrations are outside the scope
  • Creating designs from scratch – The proof shows your provided personalisation, not conceptual design work
  • Creating outline versions of images – Image modification is a separate graphic design service

These tasks require significantly more design time. The Artwork Proof focuses on mocking up your requested personalisation on the chosen jewellery piece.

Revision Process Explained

A revision is when we action your requested changes and supply a new PDF proof. You receive 3 revisions included with your proof service.

Examples of changes you can request:

  • Adjusting text size (larger or smaller)
  • Changing text placement or alignment
  • Requesting a different font from available options
  • Modifying graphic element size or position

Important: Multiple changes requested together (e.g., “change the font AND make text larger”) count as only one revision when submitted before we generate the new proof.

How It Works

The Artwork Proof Process

Understanding the workflow helps you know what to expect at each step.

1

Select Artwork Proof Option

When placing your order, choose the Artwork Proof option on the product page (if available for that item). This adds the proof service to your purchase.

2

We Create Your Proof

Our design team meticulously creates a digital mock-up (PDF) based on your personalisation requests. This typically takes up to 2 business days.

3

Receive Your PDF

Check your email inbox (and spam/junk folders) for your proof. We’ll send it to the email address provided at checkout.

4

Review & Respond

Carefully examine the proof using our checklist below. Reply within 5 business days with either approval to proceed or specific revision requests.

5

Production Begins

Once you approve the final proof, we begin crafting your personalised jewellery piece with complete confidence in the design.

Quality Control

Proof Review Checklist

Careful review is critical before approval. Once approved, the design is final for production. We recommend getting a second opinion from a friend or family member.

Essential Elements to Verify

  • Spelling & Grammar Accuracy – Check every word, name, and date for typos. Personalised items cannot be corrected after production.
  • Text Readability – Is the font easy to read? Is the size appropriate for the jewellery piece? Does it appear clear and distinct?
  • Placement & Alignment – Is text or graphics positioned where you envisioned? Is alignment (centered, left, right) correct? Does it look balanced?
  • Graphic Sizing – If using photos or graphics, ensure they’re the correct size relative to the item and text. Check for distortion.
  • Design Consistency – Does the complete mock-up look cohesive? Are all requested elements present?
  • Dates & Numbers – Double-check any dates, ages, or numerical figures for accuracy.

Approving your proof confirms: All details are correct and meet your requirements. Production will commence based on this approved design. We rely on your approval as final confirmation.

Important Policies

Timelines & Communication

Efficient communication ensures a smooth process and maintains our production schedules.

Your Response Timeline

To maintain production schedules and competitive pricing, we require timely responses. When you opt for the Artwork Proof service, you agree to:

  • Review and respond to the initial proof within 5 business days
  • Either approve the proof for production or provide revision feedback
  • Monitor your email inbox and spam/junk folders for proof communications
Our Communication Protocol
  • Initial Proof: Sent via email within 2 business days of ordering
  • Revision Proofs: Sent via email after receiving your feedback
  • SMS Reminder: If we don’t receive a reply within ~2 business days, we’ll send a reminder to the mobile number provided at checkout
  • Contact Details: Ensure your email and mobile number are accurate to receive these communications
Non-Response Cancellation Policy

If we receive no response (approval or revision request) within the 5-business-day timeframe from when the first proof was sent, the order will be cancelled to manage workflow and prevent production delays.

A refund will be processed according to our standard Refund Policy. This policy ensures we can serve all customers efficiently.

Making the Choice

When Is an Artwork Proof Recommended?

While not essential for every order, the Artwork Proof service is particularly beneficial in certain situations.

Complex Designs

Multiple lines of text, intricate layouts, or combinations of text and graphics benefit from proof verification.

Specific Placement

When exact positioning of personalisation is critical to your vision, a proof ensures perfect placement.

Premium Items

For high-value jewellery gifts where absolute certainty about appearance is desired before production.

Major Occasions

Weddings, milestone birthdays, or significant anniversaries where perfection is paramount.

Preview Uncertainty

If the standard online preview doesn’t fully capture how personalisation will look on the specific piece.

Peace of Mind

Simply wanting extra confirmation before the jewellery piece is permanently personalised.

When a proof isn’t needed: For straightforward personalisations like a single name on a keychain or one letter on a ring where the website preview is clear, an Artwork Proof is generally not required (and often not offered), aligning with our fair value approach.
