It took two days of not mentioning what Jess had said to him until he was ready to confess his feelings for Jess. In October 2002 two days after the confession of Jess; Scott also confessed his feelings of undying love to her.

Scott & Jess both knew they had to meet in person eventually and so proceeded to make plans for too meet. As Scott was un-employed and had little savings; and with Jess in her last year of high school; with no savings, this was going to be an impossible mission.

They both settled on a date to meet in the USA which was March 17th 2003 five months down the track; which would give them plenty of time to save money and develop the relationship further.

Scott looked desperately for a job but could not find one that would pay enough in 5 months for him to make it to see Jess & so they came up with another plan.

The plan was to get a loan from the bank but with Scott being un-employed and having little savings this was yet another road block but being the optimistic couple they were and still are; they didn't give up.

Scott being very optimistic booked a plane ticket to get himself to Los Angeles on March 17th 2003, he booked the ticket with 9 weeks to go till the plane would leave the airport; even though he didn't have the money to pay for the ticket.

Scott in the end managed to get a small loan from a family member and landed himself a job that would give him 7 weeks of savings.

Scott & Jess met in Sacramento California March 22nd 2003; even though Scott landed on US soil on the 17th of March, Scott was staying in Santa Barbara with Jess's best friend's family from the 17th of March till the 22nd because it was Jess's friends family who was driving to Sacramento with Scott for the two of them to meet.

Scott stayed in USA with Jess for 3 months then took a plane to London UK and spending 5 days there before coming back to the US because he needed his Visa Waiver renewed and to do that; he had to be out of USA for 48 hours.

Scott left Jessica after another 3 months to go back home to New Zealand to start saving to bring Jessica to New Zealand to live; Scott got a full time job within the first two days of arriving back home.

With Jessica and Scott both working full time; but in separate countries; it was only a matter of time before they were reunited again. On the 31st of December 2003 Jessica and Scott were reunited in Dunedin Airport, New Zealand.

Scott & Jessica were married 9th July 2005 surrounded by family and friends in New Zealand. Unfortunately Jessica's family were unable to make the event but were supporting us emotionally; at the time of marriage Scott was 20 and Jessica was 19.

Scott and Jessica immigrated to the USA to live in Reno, Nevada in October 2005 and are still there loving every minute of it. Scott has a job as a computer salesman/ Tech and Jessica has just started work as an apprentice electrician.
