She's From: Canada He's From: United States
I met the love of my life in a main chat
room at the end of May.
I was new to chatting, only having started
in March of this year.
He had been online for over 2 years.
I am from Canada and he is from the U.S. We started out having a
friendly conversation and making it clear to one another that we were
not interested in "finding someone", only a friendship.
Well to make a long story short, our relationship blossomed. No, we are
not people in our 20's. He is 52 and I am 43.
One day I got up the nerve to ask him to
visit my hometown as a "friend". At first he said no, but after a couple
of tries, he finally relented. After almost 4 months of constant
messaging one another, he came to visit.
We knew long before we met in real life that we were in
love with each other. At the airport, as soon as we met, our love was
even stronger. We had a wonderful 5 days together. On the fourth day of
being together he asked me to be his wife,he said he knew I was right
the one for him. I accepted his proposal. We have kept in constant
contact by both computer and telephone since his return to the U.S.
One week ago today, my son and I returned from visiting him in his
hometown in the U.S. after having been there for a week. He is truly a
wonderful man and his parents, brothers and co-workers welcomed my son
and I with open arms. I love him more and more each day and proudly wear
his ring.
As it stands now, we have both filled out immigration papers as my son
and I will be making the move to the U.S. This is all a waiting game
with U.S. Immigration. In the meantime I will be making another trip to
his hometown in the middle of April and I can hardly wait.
I never thought anything like this would happen in my life. I've heard
all the horror stories but I am living proof that yes internet dating is
certainly not a bad thing at all. Good luck to those who are also
involved in this new type of dating.
