It's strange how things happen... you are trudging through the mundane weary lanes of life when suddenly, out of nowhere, love walks in and touches your life in a way that you know that nothing could ever be the same again...

She's From:   Israel
He's From:     United Kingdom

Its Liz and Dave here from nice quiet normal Israel... arghghghghg.. LOL!

Well, David has lived in Jerusalem since November 2, we have been an old married couple since April and above is a pic of our civil wedding in Cyprus...

Liz and David at their wedding in Cyprus
Unfortunately, as hard as we tried, we couldn't be married in Israel, as David isn't Jewish so after many frustrating months, we flew to Cyprus.

Cyprus has been doing civil weddings since the twenties, and the plane from Israel was filled with smoochy soppy couples on their way to tie the knot .. almost a Mediterranean Las Vegas , if you will...

We got married in the courthouse with 3 other couples from Israel, (not at the same time, LOL) and than had a lovely three day honeymoon in Laranca... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Back here in Jerusalem now and Mr D is settling down to life in this crazy country, and learning to distinguish different types on gunfire we hear at night from Gilo. These Brits are made of strong stuff, almost as good as we Israelis.

He actually really likes Israelis, and loves how much more open and friendly we are than brits.... simple explanation for that, we are all mad! He still claims its better than Saturday night in Liverpool... LOL!

David and my little girls are getting along famously and have become very good buddies.. except when he steals their stuffed animals and threatens to flush them down the toilet (they get "upset," but think he's a pretty cool dude anyway). He and Eden, who is ten, switch lessons with each other.. she teaches him Hebrew, and he teaches her English. If that patois he speaks from Northern England can be called English... LOL)

He and Iris, who is six, are also great mates, and I love watching them together. I think the worst obstacle David has to overcome here in sunny Israel is the sun. The heat can be a bit different that Crewe, that's for sure. although swimming here is a bit better than Old Blighty.

We are both very very happy with each other. David is a fantastic husband, partner and pal... and not a bad cook, so I think I'll keep him. Good things await us in future, so life is beautiful.
