I'm sure all you guys have heard stories on the news and in the media about couple meeting and falling in love over the Internet.

Jamie and Ryan on their wedding day

If you hadn't already guessed, its exactly what happened to my husband and I, although I think of our story as a little bit more unusual because we are both only 18 years old. It all started on the 23rd of January........

I, (Jamie) had just been connected to the internet for a couple of weeks, and doing the normal things a 17 year old girl does, ya know .... checking out sites, chat rooms etc. Anyway, that night I was talking in a teen room, Peeps Lounge in Yahoo Chat to be exact. Just chatting casually, within a few minutes I got a Private Message from "him", little did I know, the guy destined to be my husband in just over 1 years time, my one and only true love. We started chatting and immediately I was drawn to him. That first night we talked long into the night, until, due to the 5 hour time difference Ryan had to get offline.

We talked everyday to follow for up to 12 hours at a time. The following months we felt we new everything that there was to know about each other, after a while, chat rooms grew old and in came the exceeding $2,000 phone bills. Everyday when we couldn't talk we'd write to each other, out lives began to revolve around the internet, we'd eat our meals talking, do our homework talking, the only time we weren't writing or talking was during sleep which had started to become less and less a part of our daily routine.

It was at this point I decided, even still without seeing a picture of my soon to be husband that he was the one for me, we just clicked, we understood each other, we could finish each other's sentences, guessed what each other was thinking, we where made to be together, in the words of Jerry Maguire...... we completed each other.

So that summer I got a ticket to go and meet Ryan in Ireland, and after flying into the wrong airport, 300 miles away from the one which he was waiting to meet me at, I finally got my chance to meet him. I never wanted to leave, I missed my flight back home, (on 2 occasions) but finally, I had no choice but to go, because school was going to start again along with being escorted to the airport by Ryan's mom.

Two weeks past, Ryan came to the States, and lived with my mom and I for about 4 months, after that we decided that it was time to get our own place, I was finishing my senior year and Ryan worked at a restaurant in my town.

So, one day my mum came home from work to find nothing much in my bedroom and not even a note to explain what we did. However time passed and things worked themselves out, as they always do. Two days before my senior prom, a week before my graduation, on the 24th of May, Ryan and I got married in the Charlotte Courthouse. For anyone interested, our website is here.
